CCC Northern 11.12.11 – GM Vehicle Services, Holmbridge

Post by Trainman » 10 Dec 2011, 06:59

Our final event of the year takes us once again to the Holme Valley to the south west of Huddersfield and Last of the Summer Wine country for a Technical Forum and general get together at GM Vehicle Services.

If you want some advice about your car this is the chance to get it up on a ramp and have it examined by Graham Morton or Nigel Wild. No doubt the latter will be equipped with his infamous chassis examination device – a large screwdriver! There are also always plenty of words of advice on hand from other Members so I’d be surprised if someone couldn’t answer your query or difficulty.

As usual the day will run from 11.00am to 4.00pm and refreshments will be available. I am aware that several ladies come along on the day but jump out of their respective significant others vehicles in Holmfirth and enjoy a bit of lunch and late Christmas shopping in the town so there really is no excuse for not coming along.

Directions from Huddersfield: Leave Huddersfield ring road on the A616 signed for Sheffield. On entering Honley bear right at the traffic lights following the A6024 towards and through Holmfirth continuing into Holmbridge; bear left round the church then take the first left – you will see a blue sign for GM Vehicle Services on the mill building on the left; turn sharp left into the mill complex and drop down into the yard. GM Vehicle Services is the furthest door on the left.

Directions from the M1: From the north, leave at Junction 39 taking the A636 signed Holmfirth or from the south leave at Junction 38 taking the A637 signed Huddersfield. In both cases at the first large roundabout, take the A636 to Holmfirth; after Denby Dale the road becomes the A635 into Holmfirth. At the traffic lights on the T junction in the centre of Holmfirth turn left onto the A6024 and continue as directions from Huddersfield.

regards

Steve

Ill be there Steve :)

I'll just be in my C5, the roads are too salty for anything else.

Please excuse the S1 C5 wheels, my winters, they date it a little!

A very enjoyable day and a good turnout too :-D

I even came away with a boot full of things, a pair of 2cv front suspension arms and many Citroen brochures, roadtests, magazines etc. Just busy sifting through them :)
