Xantia gearing

Post by jguiver » 11 Apr 2001, 17:18

Can anyone tell me the mph per 1000 revs in top gear for a 99 Xantia 1.8 16v. I'm sure my speedometer is optimistic!

If it's any help, my 2.1 Xantia is 28mph and my old BX TZD is 25mph at 1000 in top gear

Why not get on a motorway, set a constant 120 kilometres per hour, and use a stopwatch to check the time to cover two kilometres using the numbered posts at the side of the road. It should take a minute, with 3 seconds out meaning 5% out, 6 seconds meaning 10% etc.
